Documentation / Getting Started with Greenhouse PM / Modules

Modules

The Greenhouse PM application is organized into 6 basic Modules: Overview, Units, Leases, Contacts, Accounting, and Work Orders. These modules can all relate to each other, but they essentially serve as a way to organize the application functions.

Overview

This Module serves as your dashboard for all Properties currently being managed with Greenhouse PM. From the Overview, you can record any rent received for current or overdue payments, as well as get a quick snap-shot of your Property statistics.

Units

The Units Module is the container for all information regarding your Properties and Units. From this Module, you can access the Unit Overview which provides a list of the 10 most recently viewed units, you can search for a unit of interest, and you can add new Units and/or Properties.

Leases

The Leases Module is where you'll go to view existing leases and to create new leases. From the Lease Overview, you'll get a list of the 10 most recently viewed leases as well as a search utility, and the Add New Lease utility gives you a wizard-like interface for creating new leases.

Contacts

With Greenhouse PM, a Contact can either be a Vendor, Tenant, or an Individual, and the Contacts Module is your one-stop-shop for managing all of them. From here, you can record information about Vendors you've worked with, create new Tenant records for upcoming leases, and create Individual records for people you need to keep in touch with (and even associate them with a Vendor if applicable).

Accounting

Greenhouse PM provides a basic accounting model which can be accessed and customized through the Accounting Module. The Accounting Overview provides a simple Year-To-Date summary of all account transactions, from which you can click-through any particular Account to see all transactions for that account. You can also review the provided Chart of Accounts and make any modifications you wish. Expense, Income, and Transfer forms are available for any accounting transaction that needs to be recorded, and the Income Summary is available to show you quickly how well your business is doing over any given date range.

Work Orders

The Work Orders module provides a global list of all Work Orders currently in the system (Work Orders not completed will automatically show up at the top of the list). From here, you can also create new work orders, and click-through existing work orders to track your progress.
